An organic compound with the formula CH2CH2(O2C8H17)2 is colorless and odorless. This softener is resistant to cold and has high plasticization efficiency at high temperatures, causing minimal changes. It is highly suitable for polystyrene, rubber, PVC, and their co-polymers. It is used as a softener in PVC paste and as an additive in various other processes. Its applications include PVC soles, shoes, slippers, artificial leather, waterproof membranes, paint, varnish, floor coverings, hoses, and pads, among others. Its advantages include flexibility at low temperatures, good thermal stability, excellent electrical properties, compatibility with other plasticizers, and compatibility with most materials.
