Stearic acid in commercial grade consists of stearic acid and palmitic acid, which are determined by considering their concentration, and the consumption market is also known. Its vegetable grade is palm oil stearic acid. Animal-based stearic acid has an unpleasant odor. It has hydrophobic properties and for this reason it is insoluble in water and floats mostly. But it dissolves in ethanol. Stearic acid is a saturated fatty acid and is precipitated in certain conditions.
